In the beginning...
We, as Nathan's family, are starting this blog to keep everyone updated with the things happening to Elder Nathan on his mission to San Diego, California. We will post his epistles weekly and pictures as they become available. Because we are starting this blog after his MTC experience, we will do a quick update. Elder Crook spent 7 weeks beginning June 12, 2013 at the Provo MTC learning Spanish. When he first arrived, he had two companions, Elder King and Elder Pope. So it was the King, the Pope, and the Crook. Pretty funny, huh? Within a few days, Elder Pope got his own companion. Nathan was made the district leader over 12 other missionaries, which was the largest group at the MTC. He served as district leader for 4 weeks and was then released to give another missionary the opportunity to serve. Learning the Spanish language was a challenge, but he worked hard. The food was not to his liking so he lost weight. Interesting because he is not a picky eater. We sent him many packages of goodies to keep him fed and happy. He left the MTC on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 for sunny San Diego. Here are a few pictures.
